Get Ready To Suffer (And Be Very Glad!)
1 Peter 3:8-18, 4:1-4, 12-19
The idea of suffering for our faith is something that in the present climate seems to be becoming a more immediate possibility. The same was true of the first readers of 1 Peter, and Peter’s advice to them is incredibly relevant to us today, especially the seemingly strange exhortation- to ‘be very glad’.

Shining For Jesus By Submitting For Jesus
1 Peter 2:13-3:7
This passage of the Bible *SEEMS* to support slavery, the patriarchy and passivity in the face of corrupt rulers. How can this be good news for us today? Jonathan unpacks Peter's thinking, showing some crucial context and encouraging each of us to Christlikeness in the face of opposition.

In these times, our culture is desperately cynical about leadership, and for good reason. Yet somewhere deep down, we also seem to be aching for something better, for good leadership. At Churchcentral ONE, Jonathan unpacked to us our leadership options - the culture, religion, ourselves, or Jesus.

When God's forgotten me
John 11:1-45
Can sickness really be for God's glory? Isn't it just a bad thing? From John 11, we look at a time when Jesus didn't act, even for 'the one he loved', 'so that God's son may be glorified through it.'

When doesn't act
2 Corinthians 12
Why doesn't God do something?! Why wouldn't God do this for me? This week we look at Paul's thorn in the flesh from 2 Corinthians 12 and see that God's answer to the person who wrote over half the New Testament was 'No'. Despite what we sometimes feel, there is actually no correlation between whether God acts and whether he exists. In fact sometimes God says no for our good.

When God's silent
Matthew 11
What do you do when it seems God is silent, he doesn't act and he's forgotten you? In this sermon we learn from how Jesus responded to his cousin John the Baptist and see that our personal circumstances do not necessarily correspond to how God feels about us.
