Christianity: Restriction Or Freedom?
Matthew 7:14
The search for freedom is a crucial part of the human story, but religion often seems to oppress, limit and restrict. At our South Site baptism service, Rich explored the question: "Does following the way of Jesus restrict you or free you?".

Identity
Genesis 1:26-28
One of the most basic questions a human being can ask is 'who am I?'. As Jonny outlines a biblical picture of identity, he explains why we have to consider not just one, or even two, but three different identities, as we seek to understand who we are and who we could be. (Preached at West+North only).

Sex
Genesis 1:31
There's a lie going around that says God is a grump, a killjoy, who loves to stop our fun. Nothing could be further from the picture the Bible paints. Jonathan starts our Blueprint series by exploring how sex itself was God's idea, and yet so often we end up distorting this good gift.

Christ The Victor
Colossians 2:13-15
The death of Jesus is the darkest day in the whole Christian story. How could it possibly be good news? Rich unpacks the New Testament idea that as Jesus is defeated on the cross, he's actually winning a far greater victory...

How Can Anyone Believe In A Dead Man Rising?
As part of our Good News series (and our Big Questions mornings), Jonny looked at the question of whether there's any evidence to support the claim that Jesus of Nazareth came back from the dead. NOTE: The final section of Jonny's talk has been left out, it contained personal stories not for online sharing.

When God's forgotten me
John 11:1-45
Can sickness really be for God's glory? Isn't it just a bad thing? From John 11, we look at a time when Jesus didn't act, even for 'the one he loved', 'so that God's son may be glorified through it.'

When doesn't act
2 Corinthians 12
Why doesn't God do something?! Why wouldn't God do this for me? This week we look at Paul's thorn in the flesh from 2 Corinthians 12 and see that God's answer to the person who wrote over half the New Testament was 'No'. Despite what we sometimes feel, there is actually no correlation between whether God acts and whether he exists. In fact sometimes God says no for our good.

When God's silent
Matthew 11
What do you do when it seems God is silent, he doesn't act and he's forgotten you? In this sermon we learn from how Jesus responded to his cousin John the Baptist and see that our personal circumstances do not necessarily correspond to how God feels about us.
